This isn’t a dog walk, it’s an adventure! We take our packs out for vigorous activity, providing them with more mileage and exciting locations than other companies. Wild Pup Adventure offers off-leash swimming, hiking, and fetching trips AND we are the ONLY business to offer Urban Mushing and Mountain Bike Mushing for high-energy dogs. We pick up and drop off, conveniently at your home, starting at 10am, most days of the work-week, as well as some weekends. Prices for adventures are $59-65 depending on client’s location.

Is your dog excitable? Do they seem to have endless energy? This may be the activity for them. Some dogs love to run. Hard. They need it to feel healthy and balanced. Our clients run and jog next to our sturdy, low-clearance recumbent trike on Portland's beautiful bike and pedestrian paths so that they can get the exercise they need. We also offer Mountain Bike Mushing, where the dogs are not attached but run along with the pack. These are the most high-intensity activities and WPA offers the only opportunity to send your dogs on such an adventure in PDX, and, as far as we know, nation-wide. All participants come home ready for a nap. Most days, the teams run 8-15 miles! Those who participate must learn applicable voice commands so that all participants are safe. We cater to our clients and make sure that everyone has adequate rest, water, and bathroom breaks. Before mushing, we assess the dog’s paw pads and athletic ability.

Hiking, Swimming, & Fetching

These packs cover serious ground. We track them using a GPS device and find that most days, the dogs travel 9-17 miles along river beaches and park trails, all while playing fetch, racing, wrestling, and swimming.

Dogs love to hike, especially off leash! Sniffing all the scents, meeting other dogs and people, and exploring new places... it's a dog's dream-come-true! We take our clients to the best dog-friendly beaches and hiking trails that Portland and The Gorge have to offer! Water-loving dogs can't seem to get enough romping, jumping, fetching, and splashing. We exercise our clients using sticks and tennis balls. All participants must get along well with a variety of other dogs, be voice-command trained and totally trustworthy off leash, and of course they must be good swimmers! We offer both large dog groups as well as a small/gentle dog group. $59-65 depending on location.

All-Day Adventures

On special holidays and other times throughout the year, we take a large pack of friends cross-country skiing, swimming, running, and hiking in special locations in Oregon and Washington. We take a large pack on these days and are gone from morning till night. We often raise money for animal-related charities through these trips. We also raise money so that foster dogs may come with us for free on adventures. The cost is $89.

Backpacking Trips

Send your dog on the multi-day adventure of their dreams. Toby and Emilie love the wilderness and enjoy it even more when dogs are with them. During the summer months, they offer special opportunities for clients to join them on backpacking trips of varying lengths. Dogs must be voice command trained, be able to carry a backpack, and hike strenuous terrain. Trips last 2-7 days. Prices are varied.

Adventure Boarding

Staying at a kennel is alright, having a dog sitter is nice, but adventure boarding is pawsome! Not only do dog guests have their very own dog loft, they go on all of our regularly scheduled adventures! Price includes all personalized care, including pick up, drop off, feedings, regular walks, adventures, a king-size bed to share with Toby Joy, a dog bed if that is what they are used to, a crate if needed, and tons and tons of love. Toby is an Animal Reiki Practitioner. Reiki is a spiritual, energetic healing art of Japanese origin. Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Qi) which means “Energy.” Practitioners understand that all beings have the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to balance energy in themselves and to help others. It is believed that a being’s “qi” or energy should be free flowing. When this is true, a being’s body and mind are in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and the aim is simply to open to the highest good for all who participate. Sessions are held in the home where the animal lives. Toby gives this service to all who may benefit, and especially offers presence for animals who are transitioning at their end of their lives. In honor of her beloved Pup, a session is sliding scale $55-85.
